Well I finally got "Landslide" recorded. There are a couple of flat bends in the solo and a few other little things I'm not happy with, and I didn't achieve my goal of bringing out every last little bit of beauty the song has to offer, but I can't work on the same thing forever I think this was a great learning experience, I went from feeling like the 12 string was a total pain in the a** to feeling quite comfortable with it. Also got to work on a bit of recording and production. Now I just got started on "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac, it looks like it might be a lot easier. There's an outro solo which unfortunately gets faded out on, but oh well. Got a really nice backing track and Stevie sounds fantastic on it, so hopefully I'll get a nice finished recording - some day.

Excellent Jack!
I am working on I Don't Believe by Joe Bonamassa and several other techniques from class. Pulled out the 6 string acoustic started on the Sound of Silence also. Practiced 10 hours minimum last week.

Nice playing on Landslide, Jack. It looks tough to keep that finger picking pattern going steady for almost 4 minutes. Don't think I could do that.
The only thing I did worth mentioning is that I finally dug a little deeper into the 2nd half of the Mickey Baker book that I'm always talking about. This part of the book deals with single note stuff (licks and solos). The number one reason I've never done it before is because it's in standard notation. Now that I've forced myself thru the 1st couple of lessons it's getting easier. It's always the 1st step that is so hard to take.
Truefire tried to entice me with a 50% off coupon. I successfully resisted - for almost a day. I eventually gave in and spent $9.50 for a $19 course by one of my favorites, Sean McGowan. Here's my new justification for continuing to buy an occasional new course. There are a handful of books/courses that meant to be worked thru cover to cover like BYCU, for example. However, most courses can be picked over and you select the little tidbits that interest you. You pick up a tip or technique here and another over there. I like to sit back and watch an entire Truefire course and pick out things that I like and work on those. I'm sure others do the same thing. I didn't get around to making a video as I had planned. If I don't get it done this week I'm going to ban myself from the forum.

Great job, Jack!
I played every day. That's about all I can say. I guess today being the first day of autumn here in the N. Hemisphere, I should use it as a prompt to add something new to the routine, but don't have any ideas yet.

Thanks so much for all the kind words everybody, very much appreciated! Phil you can't ban yourself - I do seem to remember someone saying that posting a Christmas song in September would do it though
