The new V7#9 chord in lesson 9, page 39 is horrible. It is the hardest chord I have come across so far. I think this requires two barres - finger 1 and finger 4 (the little finger).
Arrrgh this is hard.
Any tips on how to play this highly appreciated

I extend the barre on the lower 3 strings all the way across like a regular R6 7th chord, then the chord becomes a R6 7th chord with the addition of the 4th finger barring those top 2 notes on the B and high E strings. Not the most comfortable chord ever, but it's almost impossible for me to get my 4th finger down where it needs to be if I try to barre just the lowest 3 strings with my index finger.

Try fretting a barred 7th chord, and then lay your 4th finger down to pick the notes on the top two strings. You can flip back and forth between them - 7th to 7#9 back to 7th, over and over. It's a good exercise.

Don't worry about losing the note on the 4th string (b7th) because it's doubled on the 2nd string, an octave higher.

Ah ok. Right now I am losing notes on the 4th and 1st. But sometimes just the 4th. I'll keep trying till I can get all strings clear or atleast all strings except the 4th
